International Teaching Minor

Program Overview

The International Teaching Minor is for teacher education students who have an interest in student teaching abroad. This minor is rooted in the core courses of the teacher education program leading to teaching licensure.  Students pursuing this minor develop special skills by combining international experiences, global perspectives, and the navigation of difference to complete unique form of teacher preparation.

TESL 104 - Strategies for Teaching English Language Learners 3
Choose one of the following  
EDUC 132 - Methods of Teaching - Secondary Schools 3
EDUC 122 - Curriculum and Pedagogy 3
Additional Requirements

* Student MUST successfully complete  6-7 weeks of student teaching abroad to meet this requirement. Student must apply to student teach abroad and be approved to do so by the Teacher Education committee.

** Requires advisor approval. Advising guide will be provided to all teacher education faculty. Course should either have an education emphasis OR student's work in the course should have a focus on education/schooling
