Program Overview

The theatre program provides students with training in preparation for a career in the professional theatre. Students take classes in movement, voice, singing (both musical theatre and classical), dance (jazz, tap, ballet, modern and musical theatre dance), piano, music theory, and various acting styles.  Students then hone their craft and apply the techniques they have learned in classroom and studio work, recitals and Main Stage theatre productions.

B.F.A. Degree Requirements

The acting program provides classes needed for a comprehensive theatre education and experience. Students begin with basic performance technique, then take specialized courses in a range of acting styles from Stanislavski to Meisner to classical work.  Exposure to multiple acting styles affords students the opportunity to develop an individualized method that works best for them.  Acting majors ply their craft in both coursework and Main Stage productions ranging from Ancient Greece to modern devised pieces.
