Program Overview
The Theatre Design and Technology program provides students with a comprehensive theatre education experience. Students take courses in multiple areas of theatrical design including: scenery, lighting, costume and sound. Additionally, students learn and practice the process of design from research to rendering to construction. The program stresses active involvement in all aspects of design and technology work outside the classroom. Design students serve as assistants to faculty designers and are given the opportunity to design and build Main Stage productions.
Minor Requirements
The Design & Technology minor is designed for students who have an interest in theatre production and wish to enhance their course of study in combination with another major. Students are not required to pursue a theatre major in order to add the Design & Technology minor.
