French Language and Culture Minor
Program Overview
Spoken on five continents and in approximately 50 countries, French is one of the most widely taught and used international languages—essential in the fields of business, diplomacy, international relations, and various cultural fields. The program provides students with the opportunity to develop linguistic proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing French while gaining a broad understanding of the diverse cultures of the French-speaking world, including Francophone regions in Africa, Asia, the Americas, and Europe.
The Minor in French can be effectively combined with disciplines in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, law, education, communications, or business. It offers a distinct advantage for careers in international business, diplomacy, education, global affairs, journalism, and more—making it a valuable and versatile field of study in today’s interconnected world.
